Vinland voyager

Freydís is described in the Vinland sagas as a daughter of Erik the Red who took part in the voyages to North America. In Erik the Red's Saga she is a heroine: heavily pregnant, she frightens off attacking natives by baring her breast and striking it with a sword. In the Saga of the Greenlanders she leads her own expedition, has her partners Helgi and Finnbogi killed, and murders their women with an axe herself. Which tradition, if either, is true is unknown.
