Pedro de Obarrio was governor of the Province of Panama from 1836 to 1840, a Panamanian-born politician who held the office for four years. The Province of Panama covered the eastern and central isthmus; with Veraguas (and from 1850 also Azuero and Chiriquí) it formed the isthmus within the Republic of New Granada until the creation of the Federal State of Panama in 1855.
